BARRANCO DE VENEGUERRA NEW TOWN CONCEPT MASTER PLAN Gran Canaria, Spain
MGA prepared a master plan for a 3.5-mile-long valley in the Canary Islands to be developed as an eco-tourist resort and residential community for 12,000-16,000 people. The development includes a marina, two 18- hole golf courses, a golf hotel and villas, additional hotel accommodations in hill towns and along the beachfront, a mixed-use commercial Town Center with convention facilities, and numerous recreational facilities for swimming, tennis and horseback riding. The residential units are located in the hill towns overlooking the town center. The buildings are based on local vernacular architecture and sustainable construction techniques that provide an environmentally sensitive approach as well as a unique experience of being in the Canary Islands.
