REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS Springhill Lake, Greenbelt, MD Associate-in-Charge and Landscape Architect in a collaboration of the Olin Partnership with Duany Plater-Zyberck & Co. and Michael Graves & Associates to redevelop an existing 157-acre apartment complex located in Greenbelt, Maryland. Designed to be a high density mixed use development, Springhill Lake organizes a variety of residential housing typologies around a central town center and a large public lake. The lake mitigates storm water run-off and provides critical open space to the residents, including amenities such as nature trails, bike paths, and an outdoor amphitheatre. This open space connects the site to a larger contiguous riparian ecosystem with the potential to become a regional park. Where possible, the existing streets and trees have been maintained to minimize the amount of new infrastructure construction, and the associated environmental impact it would have on the site. The scale of the streets and sidewalks are designed to promote pedestrian movement throughout the site as well as convenient access to neighborhood parks and the Greenbelt Metro Station, which serves the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Along with the arena are several commercial and residential buildings that span over a 24-acre site, including 7.5 acres of new public open space, which will all be built over the existing rail yard. In collaboration with Forest City Ratner and Gehry Partners, Olin Partnership is designing the open space to become a destination for the
