Biog Susan lives / works in Hastings, East Sussex. She trained in textile design before working as a community artist in London. During this period she learned mosaic making. It is this discipline, using recycled kitchen and tourist ceramics she now embraces. Susan uses recycled kitchen crockery and tourist mementos to create a multi-faceted image of popular culture, often with a narrative of national identity, expressing a sympathetic deconstruction of British clichés, describing her work as “like archiving the mantelpieces and kitchen cupboards of a Nation.” Susan’s work is regularly exhibited at Mauger Modern Art in Bath.
