DETERMINATION OF JURISDICTION; PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES [MEDICAL EXAMINERS]

SUMMARY OF PROPOSED RULE

Revisions to this rule section create procedures when medical examiner districts enter into a cooperative agreement for the performance of an autopsy and define requirements for autopsy record keeping and reporting.

JUSTIFICATION OF PROPOSED RULE

To develop procedures for cooperative agreements, associate medical examiner appointment, record keeping duties, and workload reporting duties involving autopsies.

FEDERAL COMPARISON STATEMENT

There are no federal requirements dealing with this topic.

SUMMARY OF HEARING

The proposed rule was noticed in the Florida Administrative Weekly on March 7, 2008 for a hearing to be held on April 2, 2008, if requested.  FDLE received no requests for a public hearing and no written comments were submitted.
