Format developed in cooperation with Hewlett-Packard, Mitsubishi Chemical, Philips, Ricoh, Sony, and Yamaha. DVD+RW is a rewritable format that is fully and immediately compatible with DVD players and DVD-ROM drives.
Error Detection Code/Error Correction Code. Used to identify and correct scan errors which may be caused by scratches or dirt on the surface of a CD.
