(Boston, MA) Art-of-living expert Katie Brown, whose down-to-earth Midwestern style and infectious personality have been praised by People, TV Guide and USA Today, returns with more fun and inexpensive craft and decorating projects in the second season of Katie Brown Workshop. The 26-part series begins airing on public television stations nationwide on May 5, 2007 (check local listings).
Katie Brown’s appealing and imaginative approach to the home arts has been a breath of fresh air for a new generation of homemakers. Katie promotes organization, imagination and a positive outlook as ways to achieve personal satisfaction. Says Katie, “Public TV viewers and I are in sync with the desire to approach the daily tasks of living in an affordable way — with creativity, energy and joy.”
From her real-life workshop in Brooklyn and her Manhattan townhouse, Katie tackles recipes and projects in each episode’s “Cook,” “Grow” and “Nest” segments. Accompanied by her fellow workshop experts, Katie demonstrates how to plan the perfect bridal shower, host a Southern-inspired summer barbecue, capture cherished memories of beach vacations and prepare homemade sweets for Valentine’s Day.
Always with an eye towards family, Katie provides imaginative suggestions for entertaining and encouraging little ones. In an episode entitled “Early Earners,” Katie’s inspires young entrepreneurs to open their own neighborhood lemonade stand with recipes for different lemonades and frozen berry pops, and tips for fashioning a money apron and a homemade sign.
