The Friends spent many hours in 2003 putting together a bilingual three-fold colour leaflet to promote the garden.  5000 have been printed, at a cost of £950.

In 2004 we arranged the twinning of the Botanic Garden with the Katse National Botanic Garden in Lesotho, South Africa.  We were able to invite the curator, Mr Tau  Mahlelebe, to attend a Lesotho Day held in the University.  The Friends paid his airfare and some expenses in the UK.  This event was well attended. Tri-lingual Twinning Certificates were presented to our Curator, Nigel Brown and Mr Mahlelebe  by Professor Mark Baird, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University.

We have arranged joint meetings with the North Wales and Chester Orchid Society at Goredale Garden Centre, and also with the Gwynedd Astronomical Society.

Botanical art classes are now ongoing.

Each year a four-day coach trip to visit gardens further afield is arranged by volunteers.  Any surplus goes to our funds and to subsidise any possible shortfall on the following year’s trip.
