How do the credit reporting agencies display an address discrepancy? Each credit reporting agency displays an “address discrepancy indicator,” which typically is simply a code in a specified field. Each credit reporting agency uses a different indicator. Experian supplies an indicator for each displayable address that denotes a match or mismatch to the address supplied upon inquiry.

Available products and services to assist with compliance

What products does Experian offer to help me comply with the Rule? Experian® provides a series of Red Flag–relevant products that can be implemented as part of your Program or as a standalone Program. These offerings include:

Are Experian’s products standalone or are they in conjunction with running a credit report on a customer or prospective customer? They are a combination of both. Some products are delivered with the credit report, and some are standalone.

Experian consults with it’s clients to assess which products and services may most appropriately map to the Program being implemented in response to the Red Flag Guidelines.
