Strategy of Fund Management
To achieve the above investment objective, the asset manager of the KODEX200 ETF (Samsung Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd.), selects from the shares comprising the KOSPI200 Index investable issues with assessed insolvency risks, and uses a representative sampling strategy, taking account of the tracking error,
to create a portfolio.
Samsung Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd. invests
in said representative sample of securities and stock index futures (derivatives of KOSPI200), among others.
) Introduction to the Benchmark Index
The KOSPI 200 Index consists of 200 stocks selected from the stocks traded on the Korea Exchange for market size, liquidity and industry grouping. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of January 3, 1990.
Base date and base value: January 30, 1990, 100pt. Calculation Method: capitalization-weighted index calculated as follows:
KODEX200 = market capitalization of composite stocks as of the date of comparison
/ market capitalization of composite stocks as of the base date
Regular change: Once per year (every June)
Composite stock selection criteria: Market representation, industry representation and liquidity
The Fund invests in most of the stocks composing the benchmark index, but if the ratio of stocks with low market capitalization falls too much or there is a liquidity problem, the asset manager may adjust the asset allocation rate with respect to those stocks or not invest in them.
If there is a change in the composite stocks of the benchmark index, the Fund
may invest in stocks that are not included in the benchmark index.
