Mr. Howard explained Ironton garage roof repair requirements.  The Board directed him to write bid specifications with input from Mr. Harmon, Mr. Vanek and local contractor(s).

Mr. Harmon:

Explained CCRC Attorney Joel Wurster will report after meeting with Mrs. Diesenroth to discuss Townhall Road relocation offer, Hudson Township.

Said Boyne City street superintendent Denny Jason requested CCRC correct Marshall Road drainage problem from Trapper Woods subdivision to Anderson Road.  Mr. Harmon and Mr. Vanek will prepare cost estimate.

Said HS4082 passed the Senate last week (22-16), diverting $10.5 million in 2005 and $10.9 million in 2006 from Michigan Transportation Funds (MTF) to the Secretary of State (SOS).  According to fiscal experts, SOS future budgets will increase $5-7 million annually.

The DNR will accept ORV operator comments until October 15, 2005 on new “Draft Comprehensive Plan for Management of Off Road Vehicles”.

Commissioner Saunders moved to award 4,500 tons winter ice control sand stockpiled at Ironton garage to low bidder Hilltop, Inc. ($20,835.00) contingent on contractor meeting with CCRC manager and staff engineer to establish all CCRC procedural and testing requirements are met, seconded by Commissioner Ogden.

Mr. Vanek:

Said Boyne City-Charlevoix Road/US31 intersection improvement project will be paved this week, weather permitting.

Said Marion Eveline Township would like Brock Road, Ranney Road and Washington Street crack fill project awarded to Applied Pavement Markings (APM).

Commissioner Ogden moved to award Brock Road, Ranney Road and Washington Street crack fill project to low bidder APM ($5,246.55), seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden:

Reminded Mr. Vanek to include longitudinal wedging asphalt quantity in Advance-East Jordan Road wedging and widening estimate.

Asked Mr. Vanek to keep detailed individual daily reports on US131-M75 intersection improvements, do due to Ogden’s concern that the project is somewhat under designed.
