Chairman Way called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM.

Chairman Way, Commissioners Saunders and Ogden, County Commissioner Ron Reinhardt, Patrick Harmon and James Vanek attended, along with Tri-County Excavating representative Phil Vandermus, H&D, Inc. representative Vince Carpenter, Applied Pavement Markings representative Mike Hagman and Northwest Design Group (NDG) engineer Howard Haselschwardt.

Commissioner Saunders moved to approve July 25, 2005 regular meeting minutes with the following corrections, seconded by Commissioner Ogden.

Page 1, line 48:change Vote to:“Ayes – Saunders, OgdenNays – WayMotion carried.”

Page 2, line 72:change “over band” to “Overband”

Page 2, line 77:delete “crush and shape and” AND add “and overlay” after “pavement widening”

Page 2, line 89:add “truck” after “pick-up”

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden moved to designate Patrick Harmon as voting delegate for September 07, 2005 County Road Association Self-Insurance Fund Annual Meeting.  No alternate delegate was named since Mr. Harmon will be the only CCRC representative in attendance, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Saunders moved to postpone budget decision until August 22, 2005 meeting, seconded by Commissioner Ogden.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden moved to open Gennett Road reconstruction (Norwood Township) bids at 10:30 AM August 22, 2005, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden moved to open bids for 42,000 tons 23A MDOT specification gravel production, Sutliff Pit at 10:30 AM August 22, 2005, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

All present discussed Emmet County ORV road rights-of-way use.  Mr. Harmon said Emmet CRC will not act on the issue since there are no DNR approved trails.

9:30 AM-Mr. Haselschwardt presented and explained Holy Island bridge restoration report, highlighting five alternative structure designs and length.  He presented type, size and location study.  CCRC has submitted a Local Bridge program application.

10:30 AM-Anderson Road crossing Porter Creek (Wilson Township), West Road pavement widening & overlay (Bay Township), and various county road crack fill projects bid openings.
