Mr. Harmon:

Spoke with the Corps of Engineers, who informed Mr. Harmon there is controversy between Charlevoix Township Pine Point Subdivision residents who have private docks.  The Corps of Engineers won’t issue permits until CCRC gives approval.  Mr. Harmon and the Board agree CCRC would not issue permits for docks.

Attended a meeting to discuss the Advance Power Plant demolition.  There will be one truck loaded per day for approximately 40 days.  Eveline Township officials have concerns with heavy trucks traveling Advance Road.  Mr. Harmon suggested trucks follow Lakeshore Drive-Boyne City/East Jordan (BC/EJ) Road route.  Commissioner Saunders thought townships could designate truck routes; Mr. Harmon said Bay Township couldn’t on Camp Daggett Road, but placed signs suggesting heavy trucks use Horton Bay Road.

Is unable to attend the May 10, 2005 37th District Meeting due to meeting with labor attorney.  Commissioner Saunders will attend the 37th.

Will instruct shop foreman Mick Luchenbill to write specifications to purchase used brine truck.

Informed Board 2005 projects will deplete current Sutliff Pit gravel pile and (for budgeting purposes) gravel production will be required this fall.

Will present Sutliff Pit winter sand production proposal at May 19, 2005 regular meeting.

Commissioner Reinhardt is concerned with heavily loaded trucks using Deer Lake Road.  He witnessed five or six in one-half hour.  Mr. Harmon said some cannot be avoided due to the new development near Boyne USA golf course.

Mr. Gray asked if Michigan has higher weight limits than surrounding states.  Mr. Harmon said Michigan weight limits are 150,000-lbs. compared to 80,000-lbs. in surrounding states (due to automobile manufacturers).

Mrs. Kondrat:

Presented and reviewed current financial statement.

Will attend May 10-12, 2005 Finance and Human Resource Business Seminar.

Recessed at 9:50 AM.  Resumed at 10:00 AM.

Commissioner Ogden:

Reminded manager to acquire 2004 brochure information for distribution with 2004 CCRC audit presentation to County Board.

Requested quarterly attendance report to Board.

Presented final changes to “Standards and Specifications For Plat Condominium and Public Road Development”.

Commissioner Ogden moved to adopt 2004 “Standards and Specifications For Plat Condominium and Public Road Development” revisions as presented, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.
