Said shredded office paper can be placed in the newspaper-recycling bin.

Confirmed Beaver Island address/road name signs are installed, except for one reorder.  The GIS Director is currently preparing future township address sign updates.

Presented MichCon utility permit request to bore under Marion Center Road between Clark and Vernida Roads, Charlevoix Township.  CCRC Policy 89-4 entitled “Work Within the Right-of-Way from November 15 to April 15” states “the applicant shall furnish a bond”.  The Board suggested contacting Michigan County Road Commission Self-Insurance Pool (MCRCSIP) for required bonding amount.

Presented Matthews and Swanson lawsuit regarding old Wildwood Harbor Road right-of-way (ROW) abandonment off Shadow Trails, Section 12, Melrose Township.  He suggested not opposing the lawsuit because Wildwood Harbor Road was relocated in the 1920’s 1950’s without abandoning the old ROW.

Received a Hyek Road abandonment petition, Section line of 17 & 20, Hayes Township.  The applicant must first provide CCRC with a list of all affected property owners names and addresses.

Mr. Vanek presented 2005 Thumb Lake Road paving award from the Asphalt Paving Association of Michigan & MDOT; he and Mr. Harmon attended the banquet.

Mr. Gray questioned how 2007 emission standards affect CCRC truck purchases; the Board said new trucks will continue to be purchased.

Commissioner Ogden moved to transfer $110,356.60 from the Equipment Fund to the General Fund to pay final installment for two new Peterbilt Single Axle Trucks (i.e. dump boxes, slide-in sanders and underbody scrapers), seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Way has received numerous complements on CCRC winter snowplowing performance.

Commissioner Saunders moved to pay bills totaling $150,785.41, seconded by Commissioner Ogden.

Chairman Way opened the meeting at 9:00 AM.

Chairman Way, Commissioners Saunders and Ogden, County Commissioners Shirley Roloff and Ron Reinhardt, Patrick Harmon, James Vanek and Shelley Kondrat attended, along with Petoskey News-Review reporter Fred Gray.

Commissioner Saunders moved to approve November 14, 2005 regular meeting minutes as presented, seconded by Commissioner Ogden.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden moved to transfer $31,733.25 from the Equipment Fund to the General Fund for 2006 HD Ford F-250 Crew Cab 4X4 Pickup Truck purchase, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden moved to accept and sign Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians Subdivision Street Maintenance contract for their Eveline Township roads, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.

VOTE:Ayes – 3Nays – 0Motion carried.

Commissioner Ogden moved to change 9:00 AM December 26, 2005 regular meeting to 9:00 AM December 30, 2005 to allow year-end preparation, seconded by Commissioner Saunders.
