Words of Thanks

From Janet Dietrich: I would like to thank the congregation for all the cards and support you have given me with the loss of Ron. A special thank you to the JOY Circle for helping to serve the luncheon after the funeral and the help you gave the fire company at the blood drive. It is a blessing to belong to such a caring church.

From Lois Groff and the JOY Circle: Thank you to everyone who donated candy and goodies for the Easter Egg Hunt. Special thanks to Mary and Jane for providing the hot dogs and rolls and to Kellie Leight for proving the drink. A special thank you to Anthony Porter for his role in making the day so fun.

From the family of Bill Porter: Thank you to all who expressed their love and concern in so many ways upon Bill’s death. God did indeed “hold us in the palm of his hand.”

From Bronwyn Yocum, Superintendent, Northeast District:

Dear Blaik,

I am writing to thank you and the members of your congregation for the faithfulness you have demonstrated in paying 100% of your 2009 apportionments to the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, the World Service Fund and the general church. The apportionment is one of the ways that we make visible our sense of connection, adding our funds together as we reach out to the world in the name of Jesus Christ. Your payment in full of your apportionments as well as all other funds due the conference demonstrates a commitment to the connection and an understanding of the power of the Holy Spirit at working through us when we work together.

Please extend my thanks and those of Bishop Peggy Johnson to your congregation, I know the last year has been a time of financial challenge for many congregations, and your payment undoubtedly represents sacrifice on the part of both individual members and your church. I also want to thank the laity who are leading your church to fruitfulness in ministry. I pray that God will continue to bless your efforts as you labor faithfully in the vineyards of the Lord. May you experience the joy of serving God, seeing people led to a new and deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through your ministries. God bless you and your congregation in 2010.
