Using the System Navigator

Single-interval resource displays. For example: DISPLAY RCPU TODAY STIME(1115) ETIME(1130)

With the EPILOG system navigator, you can easily explore these possible displays in full-screen mode in order to implement Candle Corporations logical tuning methodology (see Logical Tuning Approachon page 30 if you are not familiar with this procedure).

For example, to generate a multi-interval summary report for a given day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, enter the command:

DISPLAY GRP 2 SUM SDATE(1/02/97) STIME(09:00) - EDATE(1/02/97) ETIME(21:00) COMBINE(1H) The report appears as shown in Figure 29.

The format of the SUMMARY report makes it obvious that bottlenecks were worst between 14:00 and 15:00. The next step might be to ask for the single-interval breakdown of the SUMMARY report by entering:

DIS GRP(2) SUMMARY SDATE(01/02/97) STIME(14) EDATE(01/02/97) ETIME(15)

The system navigator allows you to do this more simply by entering an S (for single-interval display) in the first position of the line as shown in Figure 29. This produces the single-interval display shown in Figure 30.
