EDS Initialization Processor

Introduction

The KEBINIT processor initializes a newly defined VSAM cluster for use as an EPILOG datastore. To do this it writes a single initialization record. This is a requirement imposed by VSAM; the EPILOG collector cannot use the cluster in direct-access mode until it contains at least one record.

If the cluster is suballocated and you define it as REUSE, KEBINIT also empties the cluster of any old records. UNIQUE clusters cannot be cleared in this way; you must delete and redefine them.
