Chapter overview

EPILOG has the following operational components:

Interface

Receives control from MVS, and then starts the collectors.

EPILOG collector

Monitors IMS resource utilization and bottleneck analysis (DEXAN) collectors, and records the gathered data in the EPILOG datastore (EDS).

Bottleneck Analysis (DEXAN) data collector.

Samples the execution states of the threads flowing through IMS.

This section explains how to operate the EPILOG collector.
