Interface Operation

In this example, you can terminate the interface with one of the following MODIFY or STOP commands to the MVS ID:

STOP IMSMON P IMSMON MODIFY IMSMON,STOP F IMSMON,STOP

The interface operates automatically and usually does not require operator intervention.

Interface commands

There are two methods of issuing commands to the interface: you can enter them directly into the console or store them in a RKANPAR member. From the console, you must use the MODIFY command before you can issue any other commands from the console. In order to store commands in an RKANPAR member, you must issue the EXEC interface command. Commands in RKANPAR library members can start in any column, as long as you complete the command word before column 72. Continue a command by placing any character in column 72.

The interface commands that apply to the EPILOG. historical component are:

Displays active interface subtasks (alias of DISPLAY). Sends a message to the MVS console. Stops an interface subtask (alias of STOP). Starts an interface subtask (alias of START). Starts an interface subtask (for example, OMEGAMON®). Stops an interface subtask.

Changes the option member used by the EPILOG collector.
