EPILOG has four different display types. All display types are mutually exclusive. The table below summarizes them, and the following sections describe them in detail.
Table 8. Display Types
Display detailed degradation for a workload (individual collection intervals).
Display main bottleneck reason for a workload by interval.
Display one of the resource panels, each of which provides information about a specific performance area. See Table 9: Resource Panel Types on page 68 for a list of the resource panel keywords.
Display collector options and GROUP definitions.
Detailed workload (DETAIL keyword)
DETAIL is the default display type. It contains a breakdown of the performance bottlenecks of an average thread in the workload for a single collection interval. These intervals are usually the same as the system’s RMF interval. You can synchronize EPILOG intervals with those of RMF when you install the product.
For example, you could use the DETAIL command as follows:
DISPLAY DETAIL GROUP(3) SDATE(01/02/97) STIME(1930) EDATE(01/02/97) ETIME(1945) PMIN(3)
If you used abbreviations, the first three keywords could be DIS DTL GRP(3). Specifying the workload, time, and date ranges is discussed later in this chapter.
Figure 8 on page 66 shows the report resulting from this command:
