Date/Time Specifications

Date/Time Specifications

Introduction

Without date or time specifications, EPILOG tries to display the data you request for every interval in the EPILOG datastore, every time you press Enter. It is clearly more reasonable to ask only for data from a narrowly-defined time range.

The date/time selection keywords let you tailor the displays to limit the amount of data to some period or periods. In general, supply a starting date and time and ending date and time:

DIS GRP(2) SDATE(05/16/97) STIME(0800) EDATE(05/19/97) ETIME(1600)

This command displays periods which begin after the start time and before the end time on each day selected. This is the BAND display. In Figure 13 on page 73, the shaded areas represent the intervals that this command selects for monitoringthe eight-hour period of 08:00 through 16:00 on 05/16, 05/17, 05/18, and 05/19, a total of 32 hours.

Alternately, you can specify the RANGE keyword, which displays data for the entire period, not just for part of each day. In Figure 14 , the shaded area represents the interval selected for monitoring, from 08:00 on 05/16 through 16:00 on 05/19, or 80 hours.
