ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics Three ASME NCAD members, Jeff Vipperman, Steve Hambric, and Liang‐Wu Cai, are Associate
Editors for ASME’s Journal of Vibration and Acoustics. Please see http://journaltool.asme.org/Content/JournalDescriptions.cfm?journalId=18&Journal=VIB
information. They all encourage authors of well reviewed ASME NCAD conference papers to submit their work to the journal. We will work with you to minimize review times by using, as much as possible, the reviewers of the conference papers. Final papers are usually published in the journal about six months after acceptance.
Please contact Jeff (firstname.lastname@example.org), Steve (email@example.com), or Liang‐Wu (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’d like to pursue submitting your work to the journal.
Technical Committees Active and Passive Noise Control Committee Chair: Adam Smith, email@example.com
The primary goal of the committee is to disseminate knowledge about theoretical and practical applications of active and passive noise control. All aspects of noise control process are of interest, from noise source identification to source‐path‐receiver relationships. Topics of focus are active, passive, and hybrid approaches to controlling and abating unwanted sound. Accomplishments from 2010:
The Active and Passive Noise Control Technical Committee was actively involved this year at IMECE. At the conference the technical committee had one symposium on active and passive noise control with one session. A total of 4 technical papers were published in the conference proceedings. The papers focused on a wide range of noise control topics, from active/passive sensor location to application of active damping techniques. Planned Activities for 2011:
NCAD will again be a part of IMECE in Denver next year, and a call for papers from the technical committee has been submitted. Sessions will specifically focus on product noise controls technologies
