Mack Bernard Executive Director of American Communities, Inc.
Mack Bernard is currently the Executive Director of American Communities, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) organization, which develops, builds, and manages affordable communities throughout the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. He has over 10 years of real estate experience; developing, building, and managing affordable rental housing.
He has his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida State University, and his Juris Doctorate degree and Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. He practiced real estate and tax law at a boutique law firm in Lakeland, Florida.
Mr. Bernard was appointed City Commissioner in 2008, and was elected in 2009, in which he served as Deputy Vice-Mayor. In 2009 he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, and was subsequently re-elected in November 2010.
He serves as Board Chair of the Toussaint L’Ouverture High School for Arts and Social Justice. He serves as a Board Member for the CJ Foundation, the Color of Hope Foundation, and the Marie Louise Cancer Foundation, and on the Advisory Board of the Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute. He also served as the President of the Palm Beach County Caucus of Black Elected Officials.
Lisa Hinners Marketing Director
Lisa Hinners has over 25 years of marketing experience. She writes, edits and manages production of websites/Search Engine Optimization, on-line and print advertising, brochures, direct mail, and signage for Auburn Communities and its developments.
Prior to joining Auburn Communities, Lisa worked in a creative capacity for various organizations, including a daytime television program, an advertising agency and a national newspaper. For three years prior to joining Auburn Communities, she worked in public relations and wrote and edited a weekly on-line newsletter in the corporate communications department of NCCI in Boca Raton, the largest provider of workers compensation data in the nation.
Lisa studied liberal arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
George Fisher CPM, RAM, CAMVice President
George Fisher has over 55 years of real estate management experience. He is a respected leader of the National Association of Home Builders’ Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) program and frequently speaks at the national level on real estate management issues.
Prior to joining Auburn Management, George was president of one of the largest real estate management companies in New York City, where he supervised 42 site managers. Mr. Fisher is on the faculty of New York University, Queens College, New York City Technical College and Hofstra University, where he has taught property management courses.
George earned his bachelor’s of science degree from New York University. He is a decorated World War II veteran and the founder of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
