Closing Comments & Announcements

Karen Fleming was recently awarded the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award.

Steve Whiting received the Unsung Hero Award for his continued service with the VOA and the Appalachian community.

The Developmental Studies Department would like to wish Barb Adams a well- deserved and relaxing retirement. We’ll miss you!

Jim Brooks will be honored at a special recognition dinner at the Dayton Peace Museum. Jim will be honored and recognized for his generous contributions to the museum.

Training for the Best Teaching Practices initiative for both full-time and part-time faculty will be offered during the Summer Institute series; the dates are July 18 (Wed.)from 9-12 in 14-114 and August 3(Fri.)from 9-12 in 14-114. These sessions will be highly interactive with lots of great activities demonstrated and many handouts distributed for your use during fall quarter. Full-time faculty will also receive a stipend of 50 dollars for attending the half day session. The sessions are limited to 20 participants, so if you are interested, please sign up soon. We hope to see you there.
