in this case the client shall be liable to pay the extra costs if requested by the student's school.

14 Arbitration

All disputes or differences which at any time arise between the parties whether during the term or afterwards touching or concerning this agreement or its construction or effect or the rights duties or liabilities of the parties under or by virtue of it or otherwise or any other matter in any way connected with or arising out of the subject matter of this agreement shall be referred to a single arbitrator to be agreed upon by the parties or in default of agreement to be nominated by the President for the time being of the Chartered Institution of Arbitrators in accordance with the Arbitration act 1996 or any statutory modification or re-enactment of it for the time being in force.

15 Misconduct

A student may be expelled from Connections service for serious or continual misconduct, particularly where such behaviour prejudices the safety or progress of themselves, other students or any other people, or brings the company or school itself into disrepute.  The student accepts responsibility of Connections, the school and the homestay to act in the best interests of the student’s education and welfare. Connections shall charge extra for attending any act of any misconduct. If Connections or its agents or employees is called and has to spend any time or resources dealing with such events Connections shall charge an additional GBP150 per day.  The client must also pay all additional expenses incurred during such matters in relation to the student and any parties connected with the incident(s).  The client is contracted to pay Connections immediately upon issue of invoice.

15.1 Naturally all students must obey the laws of the United Kingdom especially regarding to driving, drugs, alcohol and tobacco.  It is obligatory to comply with the rules of the school, and those set by Connections and the homestay where appropriate.

15.2 The use of any Drugs not prescribed by a Medical Practitioner is totally prohibited.






Free airport transfers in September, December, January and at the end of the school year         between London Heathrow (or Gatwick) airports and the homestay on 4 specified days (see current Invoice for the correct dates and charges for all other days).

Attendance at parent-teacher events and school functions.

Reports to parents via agent.

Liaison between school, staff, student, client and agent.  

Liaison between homestay, student, client and agent.

Arrangement and co-ordination of homestay accommodation (half board on school days and full board on non-school days including Easter).

Advice in academic matters, pastoral care and student life in Britain.

Arrangement of private tuition for the student as required (costs vary).

Act on behalf of parent in an emergency.

Not included:

Christmas accommodation (two weeks according to Local Education Authority official term dates) and summer accommodation (according to Local Education Authority official term dates), transportation between homestay and school plus any additional transport, packed or school lunches, School excursions and any extra curricular activities, Pocket money, Bank charges, additional accommodation, school uniform (required up to and including year 11).

*Please note that transport on any except the specified dates will be chargeable at 50 pence per mile (payable in advance) and ONLY by prior agreement between the student(s) and Connections.

Please be aware that it is our Local Education Authority (LEA) policy not to confirm a placement at a local school up to and including year 11 (under 16 years old) until the student has actually arrived in the United Kingdom.

The Client bestows upon Connections UK Guardianships Ltd and its appointed affiliates and staff, the right to act ‘in loco parentis’ in any situation, particularly in the event of emergencies including the signing of permission for urgent medical or surgical treatment.

It is understood that the client will pay the required deposit and that the client will be liable for the first term’s fees upon signing the registration forms, and that a clear term’s notice must
