Let us guide you through the Health & Safety maze.
There is a wealth of information for any business working in construction, offices, factories, mining, etc. but little for those of us working in the event and entertainment industry.
OK - there’s the Purple Guide (pop code, Event Safety Guide) - and in recent years some excellent publications to help us, but, for the most part, we rely on interpretation of rules and regulations devised for other industries.
For example our Managing Director, Brian Cleary, was called to a theatre in Wales where the local Environmental Health Officer with responsibility for Health & Safety was appalled to see a front of house truss suspended over the seats. His knowledge of LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regs) told him that suspending a load over people is unacceptable. Although standard practice in the industry, how was he to know about secondary safeties, specialist lifting equipment, etc?
Our experienced staff will give guidance on common and standard practices as well as current interpretations of Regulations affecting the industry. Coupled with intelligent risk assessments, we can protect your company and your staff.
