This presentation will give teachers insight on how to incorporate the community and its members into the classroom. Teachers, administrators, and parents will gain knowledge of what students have experienced in and out of the classroom when the community is involved. Learn how to involve YOUR community!

This year our emphasis will be on the power of the written word to serve as a vehicle to drive positive social change and provide a healthy outlet for personal expression. Students will accomplish this through a series of speakers and workshops stressing the importance of writing and how it enables individuals to reach their personal and career paths. All students are potential leaders in a bi‐literate world.

General conference participants are invited to come see what our student leaders are working on and talking about.

Erin Mayer, GLAD trainer and third grade teacher, will share GLAD strategies that have increased student achievement in math and supported her school's adopted math curriculum.
