Harvesting Support for Dual Language Education EXCHANGE

James J. Lyons is a civil rights policy attorney in Arlington, Va. A former staff member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, he served in the Department of Education under President Jimmy Carter. For 16 years he was lobbyist for and then executive director of the National Association for Bilingual Education. He currently is a columnist for Hispanic Link News Service.

The presenter will explore messages, messaging, and messengers which can harvest community and government support for dual language education programs.
