The Department of Rehabilitation and Correction recognizes the importance of our staff and equally important are the family members of our staff. The stressors they experience as a result of the jobs are staff are doing can be overwhelming at times. Relationships can suffer greatly if all members of a family are not taking care of themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. While we are making this information available to our staff, families may not be aware of the resources that are available to them. Many of the services described in the previous pages are available to family members including EAP services, county Mental Health Boards, county Information and Referral agencies and UBH services (when covered by state health insurance). We would strongly encourage you to share this information with your family members if needed. It can be a great relief for families to know they do not have to struggle on their own and they may find benefit from accessing the variety of services available to them.
