CounterPoint SQL V8.3.5 Release Notes
Faster Service Pack installation
Previously, after you installed a CounterPoint Service Pack on your server, each workstation ran the Workstation Setup installer (WorkstationSetup.exe) in its entirety to obtain updated files.
Beginning with V8.3.5, only those files that changed are copied to each workstation after you install a Service Pack, resulting in less downtime for the workstation.
Minimum supported screen resolution
The minimum screen resolution that CounterPoint supports is now 1024 x 768 pixels. This requirement allows new forms to be larger and display more information to the user.
Previously, the CounterPoint SQL Release Notes included detailed information about the new features in each new version, as well as step-by-step instructions for installing CounterPoint and for updating a single-site environment from a previous version. As of this version, the CounterPoint SQL Release Notes is available only as a PDF and covers only that version’s new features.
Instructions for installing a new CounterPoint system in a single-site, LAN, or Terminal Services environment now appear in the CounterPoint SQL Installation Guide, while the CounterPoint SQL Update Guide includes information about updating a single-site, LAN, or Terminal Services system to the current version. Each of these books is available as a PDF and as a printed manual.
New customers automatically receive the CounterPoint SQL Installation Guide. Current CSS subscribers will receive the current CounterPoint SQL Update Guide with each release.
In addition, the CounterPoint SQL PDF Library now includes the CounterPoint SQL User's Guide, which includes general information about the concepts, user interface, and features of CounterPoint, as well as step-by-step instructions for completing many common daily tasks.
The PDF Library also includes revised and expanded Radiant Hardware documentation, which details the process of configuring the hardware bundles and individual peripherals that are available from Radiant Systems, including instructions for setting up Radiant hardware for use with Terminal Services.
