CounterPoint SQL V8.3.5 Release Notes

29

Automatically lock station

The Lock station option in Ticket Entry and Touchscreen Ticket Entry allows clerks to secure their stations when they leave them unattended. This version includes a station locking feature that automatically locks a station if CounterPoint does not detect a keystroke or a mouse click within an allotted amount of time.

You can enable this feature for each station by selecting the Use automatic station lock check box on the Main tab of the Stations window (Setup / Point of Sale / Stations), and then specifying an appropriate timeout interval in the Number of minutes until lock field.

CounterPoint monitors user input in Ticket Entry and Touchscreen Ticket Entry. If there is no user input within the specified number of minutes, the station locks and the Station locked dialog appears, as if the user had selected the Lock station option.

To unlock the station, enter your User ID and Password, and then click OK.

NOTE:

To lock a station in other areas of CounterPoint, you can set up a password- protected screen saver with an appropriate timeout interval.
