CounterPoint SQL V8.3.5 Release Notes
Upgrading Point of Sale orders from CounterPoint V7
In this version, you can use the Upgrade Data utility (System / Utilities / Upgrade Data) to upgrade Point of Sale orders from CounterPoint V7.
If you have already upgraded to CounterPoint SQL from CounterPoint V7, you can still import Point of Sale orders from the period prior to your conversion from V7.
Support for upgrading layaways, quotes, holds, and Order Entry orders from CounterPoint V7 is planned for future releases.
To upgrade Point of Sale orders, use the CounterPoint V7 Create CSV data utility to export Point of Sale and History data to the corresponding Comma-Separated Value (.csv) files.
You must have CounterPoint V7.5.12 with the December (or later) Service Pack to export Point of Sale orders from V7.
When your Point of Sale orders are exported, use System / Utilities / Upgrade Data to import Point of Sale Orders from the corresponding .csv files into your CounterPoint SQL database.
The Upgrade Data utility uses Microsoft SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS) to convert the data into the correct format and copy it into the appropriate tables in your database.
If you are using MSSQL 2005 or SSE, you must install the DTS 2000 runtime— which is included with CounterPoint—to use the Upgrade Data utility.
Refer to Upgrading Data into CounterPoint SQL in the CounterPoint SQL PDF Library for more information about using the Upgrade Data utility.
