CounterPoint SQL V8.3.5 Release Notes
Using total item quantity for pricing
In previous versions, CounterPoint could only apply quantity-based discounts or special prices to an item if the total quantity for the item appeared on a single line in Ticket Entry or Touchscreen Ticket Entry. You can now configure CounterPoint to price each item based on the total quantity of the item across ticket lines. This feature allows you to ensure that quantity-based price rules are applied when the same item is sold on different ticket lines.
For example, if you defined a promotional price rule that grants a 10% discount on the purchase of five or more cheeseburgers, you can now apply the discount when a user rings up five cheeseburgers on individual ticket lines.
To enable this feature, select the Use item total quantity for pricing check box on the Tickets-1 tab of the Stores window (Setup / Point of Sale / Stores).
With this setting, as soon as a ticket includes enough quantity of an item to qualify for a special price or discount, the price of each line is updated to include the discount.
You can still use the Use consolidated lines setting in Setup / Point of Sale / Stations to configure a particular station to combine separate, identical ticket lines on each ticket into a single line.
If you enable this feature and the Reprice when edited check box on the Orders tab of the Stores window is selected, existing order lines may be repriced when you add or modify quantities on existing orders.
