CounterPoint SQL V8.3.5 Release Notes
Support for Ingenico 6770 and 6780
CounterPoint now supports the Ingenico 6770 and 6780 payment terminals, which combine signature capture, PIN entry, line display, and magnetic stripe reader (MSR) functions. Both of these payment terminals feature color touchscreen interfaces, while the 6780 also includes a keypad with raised symbols.
Refer to Credit Cards in the CounterPoint SQL PDF for instructions for configuring the PIN pad, payment display, MSR, and signature capture components of an Ingenico 6770 or 6780 payment terminal.
Signature capture forms for Ingenico payment terminals
CounterPoint now includes improved signature capture forms—with wide Cancel and Accept buttons and a large signature area—for use with the Ingenico 6550, 6770, and eN-Touch 1000 payment terminals. These forms replace these terminals’ built-in signature capture forms, which some merchants have found to be difficult to use.
To use a pre-defined signature capture form with an Ingenico 6550, 6770, or eN-Touch 1000, select Setup / Point of Sale / Devices, click Configure on the Signature capture row, and then select the Use form file check box on the Signature Capture window.
Using a custom signature capture form
You can also use the Ingenico Form Designer—which you can obtain from Ingenico—to create a custom signature capture form for your payment terminal, and then modify your workstation’s registry settings to load your custom signature capture form when you are using Ticket Entry or Touchscreen Ticket Entry.
To use a custom signature capture form with CounterPoint, save the form in the \Devices subdirectory of your company directory (e.g., C:\CounterPoint\MyCompany\Devices), using the file name listed below for your payment terminal, and then select the Use form file check box on the Signature Capture window in Setup / Point of Sale / Devices.
