CounterPoint SQL V8.3.5 Release Notes
Entering, editing, and posting finance charge transactions
You can use the Finance Charges Enter window (Customers / Finance Charges / Enter) to view and modify calculated finance charge transactions. You can also use this function to create finance charge transactions for A/R customers manually.
You can post a single finance charge transaction by clicking the Post button, or you can select Customers / Finance Charges / Post to post all finance charges in a particular batch.
Before you post finance charge transactions, you may wish to print a FINANCE CHARGES EDIT LIST (Customers / Finance Charges / Edit List) to review the transactions you are about to post.
When you post finance charge transactions, the corresponding open items are created and each customer’s balance is updated. In addition, for each finance charge you post, the following distributions are created:
Debit account A/R account
Credit account Finance charge account
(assigned to customer)
(defined in customer’s finance charge code)
