Russell A. Sapp Remembered
reprinted from the Burlington County Times Russell Allen Sapp of Mount Holly died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Virtua‐ Mount Holly Center. He was 89. Mr. Sapp was born in Medford , the son of the late Charles and Emma Wilkins Sapp . He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific. Mr. Sapp re‐ red as the shipping clerk for Medford Knitwear.

Mr. Sapp was a naonally known pigeon fancier. He was past president of the Naonal Pigeon Associaon, past president of the Naonal Modena Club, a band distributor for the naonal associaon for 41 years . He bred three Naonal Champion Pigeons in 1965, 1968 and 1987 and was a naonal champion judge three mes.
He was a member of the Naonal Pigeon Associaon Hall of Fame and won a special award from that group in 2005. Mr. Sapp also won the Naonal Modena Club Hall of Fame Award in 1989, the Master Breeder award in 1986 and the Outstanding Service Award in 1990. He won many other awards from both associa‐ ons too numerous to list. Mr. Sapp is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Carole Wright of Mount Holly; three grandchildren, William, Gary and Dawn Panzia and her husband, William; two great‐grandchildren, Kaely and Kyle; and a sister, Florence Travani of Medford . Mass of Chrisan Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, High Street and Bartram Avenue, Mount Holly. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Medford . Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. There will be no calling hours Thursday. Perinchief Chapels

“...The friends I’ve made and found in this game, there are many. They are not to be numbered but just listed as great friends. Those whom you look forward to meet at the shows, year after year, and always trying to meet new ones, for as the old saying goes, make new friends and keep the old, for one is silver and the other gold.
