Prom Project – this is a wonderful way for senior female students with financial need may acquire a prom gown, shoes, handbag, and accessories to attend their prom when their family resources are so limited they may be unable to attend this special event in their lives. Students will need to demonstrate a financial need for this resource. The service is provided through the Northeast Christian Church. The church also welcomes donations of prom items or all sizes and monetary donations or even the service of a seamstress. Southern Regional Education Board Academic Common Market - This program allows students to pursue degrees in selected out-of-state programs at in-state tuition rates. Students can choose from some 1,800 degree programs – including more than 600 at the undergraduate level – from 150 colleges and universities across the South. Participation is easy and free, requiring only that students be certified as legal residents of one of the 16 member states of the Southern Regional Education Board and be admitted to an eligible program. Member states include Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
