Wofford College Wofford Scholars Scholarship – an opportunity for current juniors - this is a scholarship valued from $2,000 and up to full tuition currently totaling $40,000 per year for four years to attend Wofford College in South Carolina. Students must rank in the upper 10% of their junior class, have a minimum score of 1200 on the PSAT or SAT in critical reading and math or ACT/PLAN composites of 26 and demonstrate qualities of scholarship, leadership, and potential for success. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Scholarship – this is a $500 scholarship opportunity for an African American female student to attend a four year college and earn at least a Bachelor’s degree. There are no minimum requirements mentioned, but the committee will examine your application, transcript, GPA, test scores, resume, letters of recommendation, photograph, and 500 word essay to determine the winners. Kentucky Amvets Auxiliary Scholarship – this scholarship opportunity is available to high school seniors who submit a completed application, high school transcript, recent photograph, letter of recommendation from your high school counselor, demonstrate financial need, submit a scholastic rating form, demonstrate personality, and convey your goals and objectives in life. Fill out the application form available in the College Career Room. Deadline to ask for your counselor recommendation and information is March 20, 2009. Deadline to submit final materials is April 4, 2009.
Lindsey Wilson College Bonner Leader Program – this program is available for students wishing to attend Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia Kentucky and allows many opportunities for the student interested in engaging in ongoing service work while helping them develop experience, skills, and knowledge and values necessary to make that work meaningful and lasting. Commitment to the values of Social Justice, Civic Engagement, Spiritual Exploration, Diversity, International Prespective, and Community Service are emphasized and nurtured. CAPital Investment College Scholarship – this is an opportunity for high school seniors to earn $10,000 scholarships for GPA’s of 3.8 and $5,000 for GPA’s of 3.0. The student must qualify for certain household income based on federal guidelines and have the ability to donate 40 hours of volunteer time to CAP no later than June 30, 2010. duPont Manual High School PTSA Scholarships – this $500 scholarship is awarded to two student members of the Manual PTSA based on the following requirements: 3.00 GPA or above, test scores, having been accepted to a college/university, participation in school-related extracurricular activities, school related awards and honors, community service awards, volunteer and community work, letters of recommendation, the completion of a 250 word essay expressing why you want to further your education including career goals and the importance of being a student member of the PTSA, and the amount of financial aid you have already been awarded.
