Wal-Mart Scholars - Sponsored by Wal-Mart Corporation, scholarship will provide financial assistance to black male students with an emphasis on first generation college attendees.

Amount of scholarship is $2200 per semester or $4400 per academic year. Duration: Fall 2008–Spring 2009 Criteria: Must be a U.S. citizen and current full time student, maintain not less than a 2.5 cumulative GPA for the duration of scholarship, 1st generation Males, students (encouraged to apply – not all applicants must be 1st generation males). Essay required. Scholarships are awarded based on need. Must be currently enrolled at one of our member institutions. Scholarships Available: sixty-six (66). Ball Corporation - Bank of America - COSTCO Wholesale - General Mills -HSBC – The World’s Local Bank - TMCF General Scholarship - USA Funds - These companies (listed above) have provided general scholarship support with no specific restrictions. Students must be a US citizen, enrolled as a full time student, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and currently enrolled at a member institution. August Deadlines:

Delta Upsilon Man of Excellence Scholarship – this is a scholarship opportunity for freshman leaders that will be attending the University of Louisville in the Fall of 2009. There are four awards - $1,000 for the primary recipient, $500 for the runner-up, and two $250 awards for third and fourth place finishers. Applicants need not join Delta Upsilon to receive a scholarship. The program is designed to reward future student leaders for their high school and community extracurricular activities, leadership potential, and academic performance.
