Biographies

EARL SEGAL Principal

Earl Segal has over 30 years of experience in real estate transactions. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank’s Washington D.C. office in 2006, Mr. Segal was a partner in the real estate and finance group of a large international law firm.

Mr. Segal’s experience includes asset dispositions, portfolio transactions, counseling REITs and private equity funds, debt and joint venture restructurings, tax-exempt bond financing as well as conventional and mezzanine financing and matters related to the collateralization of commercial debt, including transactions with special servicers. Additionally, Mr. Segal has worked on significant hotel transactions in both the financing and disposition of hotel properties. Mr. Segal previously represented the RTC in the disposition of multi-family properties.

Mr. Segal holds an undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University and a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

SCOTT JOHNSTON Principal

Scott Johnston joined Newmark Knight Frank’s Washington, D.C. office in 2007. As a principal, Mr. Johnston heads the Investor Services division in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and leads the Government Services Group. With his 20 years of real estate experience, he has negotiated and consummated in excess of $3 billion, totaling in excess of 10 million square feet, on behalf of investors for both private and public sector tenants. In addition, Mr. Johnston has been responsible for supervising the repositioning of 10 buildings totaling over 2.8 million square feet.

Mr. Johnston attended Duke University, earning a B.A. in History and Political Science. He also received an M.B.A. in Finance and Real Estate from George Washington University.

CHRIS HANSEN Principal

Chris Hansen is a principal at Newmark Knight Frank’s Houston office. With an emphasis on providing professional, intuitive and timely capital investment advice, Mr. Hansen has personally overseen the acquisition and disposition of real estate valued at over $160 million in the last 3 years.

Mr. Hansen primarily specializes in the acquisition, disposition and redevelopment of retail and medical properties.

Mr. Hansen holds a BBA with a major in accounting from the University of Wisconsin System.
