Canon Digiclick Zones The Canon Digiclick Zones (CDZ) are Canon’s photo retail outlets, which provide a platform for digital photography to consumers. As of now, the company has 34 Digiclick Zones and plans to increase them to 100 by December 2006.

Home Cinema Centres In the projector segment, Canon’s ‘Home Cinema Centres’ concept has also been quite successful. As of 2005, the company planned to increase its Home Cinema Centres network from 18 to 30.

Canon Xperience zones Canon Xperience zones are exclusive retail showrooms showcasing entire range of Canon products for a complete Xperience to the customer.These stores provide consumers with an interactive and informative digital experience. There are currently two such showrooms in the country and Canon will increase this to 12 by December 2006.

Wider retail network In 2006, company’s major retail initiative will be in the area of establishing its presence in retail chains across the country. Initiatives by the company is already underway in this regard and will soon make announcements on the tie-ups. It plans to engage with at least 12 such retail chains this year.

Leadership drive Canon has grown at a rate of 35 per cent in Q1

2006 over last year. From 1 per cent share in the digital camera market, its share in the pie has grown to 26 per cent in 2005. Presently, Canon is No. 2 in the digital camera and digital copiers segment. In East and South India, Canon has already captured the No.1 position.

Future Plans

Canon India has been performing quite well and has chalked out a growth strategy. In 2006, the company plans to take steps for:

  • Replicating its leadership position in digital copiers to other segments

  • Attaining a leading position in the digital cameras segment across the country

  • Increasing the sales turnover to US$ 80 million

  • Improving the after-sales service and customer support

  • Targeting a 10-per cent market share in the A4 entry-level cartridge-based products segment
