MD ANDERSON PROJECT NAME
A/E Project No.
Month, 00, 0000
Coil shall have minimum 0.075-inch thick aluminum fins suitable for use with steam at a maximum temperature of 300 degrees F and a maximum working pressure of 200 psig.
Coil headers shall be cast iron or I.P.S. brass or as specified hereinafter for chilled water coils.
Coils shall have a maximum of two (2) rows and a maximum of eight (8) fins per inch.
Refer to Section 23 40 00 – Filters, The type of filter media and MERV ratings are scheduled on the Drawings.
Filters shall have a maximum width of 24 inches.
Air shall not be allowed to bypass around filters. Provision shall be made to positively lock filters in place to prevent shifting.
Provide applicable filter and final filter sections as scheduled or shown on the Drawings.
The air handling unit manufacturer shall provide one (1) set of scheduled filters for each air handling unit as shown on the Drawings. The filters shall be boxed and placed within the air handling unit during shipment. The box shall identify the type of filter and be labeled with the corresponding air handling unit identification tag number..
The Contractor shall install the set of new filters provided by the air handling unit manufacturer prior to start up of the air handler. The Contractor shall maintain and replace the filters in each air handling unit when the indicated differential pressure as defined by the filter manufacturer’s recommendation for the type of filter media has been reached. The Contractor shall install a complete set of filters after the unit has been tested and commissioned and receives final acceptance by the Owner.
Side Access Housings:
Fabricate of not less than 16-gage galvanized steel.
Housings shall each be equipped with hinged access doors at both ends, provision for receiving filters of any manufacturer without alteration to the housings and extruded aluminum channels capable of receiving both the after filters and 2-inch deep panel type prefilters.
Housings shall incorporate a permanent provision for sealing filters against leakage around the entire perimeter of each filter, eliminating the need to purchase replacement filters with factory applied gasket strips.
Replaceable woven pile seals shall be an integral component of the downstream flange of each extrusion so that the seals are compressed by the pressure drop across the filters, preventing bypass of unfiltered air.
