LANGUAGE SCHOOL

FRENCH COMMUNICATION (4 LEVELS) The French conversation program is divided into four levels. The students will be required to communicate in situations in which the use of French is necessary or useful. Learning in this practical way will ensure that students remain mo- tivated while reaching their learning objectives. Grammar will be integrated during the exchanges in class.

  • The content will relate to the student’s experience

  • The activities will take into consideration varying learning styles

  • The program will allow the student to participate according to their own personality

  • Activities are designed to encourage communication between students and between students and their teacher

  • The teacher will foster an understanding of the learning process

  • Curriculum is designed to generate real-life learning situations

Ages 16+

A placement test is required for all new students: September 28, 6:00pm, Room B-223

ACADEMIC WRITING SKILLS This course is designed for people who want to prepare for the Vanier College English Admission Test. Students will learn practical skills such as: looking for main ideas in a text, forming an opinion on a reading, summarizing main points in your own words, organizing your ideas, developing a thesis statement, creating an outline, structuring your essay, and writing grammatically correct sentences. If students have applied to Vanier College, they may write the English Admission Test on the last day of class. Note: Taking this course does not guarantee admission to Vanier College. This is not a basic writing course. Ages 16+
