Ken Rempel, with wife Alvina and 4 children live on a mixed farm 4 miles out of Elm Creek, MB.  Ken and his brother Fred do the grain farming together but Ken’s cattle operation is his own.  Ken and Fred seed approximately 1,200 acres a year with half of that being grain corn that is sold west as feed and the balance wheat and flax.  Ken also grows some silage corn for the cattle.  It was in 1973 that Ken purchased his first purebred cows and over the years he has purchased small groups of polled females from breeders all over the continent.
