Spring Ford Country Club Hosts 2009 Spring Outing

Our second tour of the challenging and beautifully manicured Spring Ford Country Club was held on May 18th. The winning team with a score of 66 was from Almac Clinical Services and included: Brian Hilton, Chris Pawlik, Matthew Pawlik and David Bingham. Second and third place awards for scores of 67 and 68 went to Univar USA and Drug Plastics & Glass, respectively. Longest drive honors went to Matt Pawlik and Delilah Winder with the straightest drive to John Tunitis. Closest to the Pin awards were garnered by Shannon Darling, Mark Eckhardt, and Dave Fuhrmeister.

The event raised $1561 for the PDE Scholarship Fund. The target golf hole had only one winner this year, Chris Pawlik, compared to 6 in 2008.

The PDE officers and Board extend their thanks to Craig Komatz, General Manager of Spring Ford Country Club, and Tony DeGisi, Golf Professional, for their first class operation and support of the PDE.

It is letters of gratitude like the following that make the PDE scholarship program so rewarding.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you a thousand times over for the 2009-2010 scholarship! I cannot adequately express my gratitude in words but I can tell you that the contribution that you have made to my education is very much appreciated. I am looking forward to my studies in the field of architecture in the upcoming years and hope to eventually focus my efforts on starting a firm that concentrates on the utilization of alternative energy and recycled materials. I hope to have the opportunity to work in some form of public service or perhaps travel and work overseas. I will gladly keep you updated on my progress and again, I thank you for this scholarship. It is truly an honor to be granted such a prestigious award. Sincerely, Shannon McLeod Pitt
