following appointments: change Linda Nichols to the position of interim high school principal, effective December 20, 2004. hire Gregory Taranto as assistant middle school principal at Canonsburg Middle School, effective January 19, 2005 at an annual salary of $60,000, pro-rated as per
the Act 93 agreement. appoint Martha Burr as a substitute teacher on special assignment at Canonsburg
Middle School at a salary of $200 per day. appoint the following as day to day long term substitutes for the second
semester of the 2004-05 school year:

hire Jeanne Russo as a 10-month secretary currently assigned to Hills- Hendersonville Elementary, effective February 14, 2005 at the contracted rate. Ms. Hilderbrand is presently an 8 hour custodian at Canonsburg Middle School. change James Cole to a temporary 8 hour custodian at South Central Elementary, effective January 19, 2005. Mr. Cole is currently an 8 hour custodian at North Strabane Intermediate School. change Hallie Morris from a 6 3 hour driver to a temporary 7 2 hour driver, effective January 12, 2005. approve the following extra-curricular positions at the contracted rate:

Canonsburg Library Report Susan Poore updated the Board on the current status of the new Canonsburg Library which will be located at Jefferson Avenue and Murdock Street. The architect for the 15,000 square foot project is Astorino. Parking for the library will increase from 32 spaces to 48. A campaign will begin soon with a goal of raising $2.5 million through grants, etc. Construction is to begin next summer.
