Course Changes for the 2005-06 School Year Mr. Pihakis made a motion, seconded by Mr. Arista that the Board approve the course changes for the 2005-06 school year.
Mr. Arista asked for clarification of the AP Music Theory course. The motion carried unanimously.
Clean Buses for Kids Grant Resolution Mr. Pihakis made a motion, seconded by Mr. Arista that the Board adopt the resolution authorizing the district to apply for funding in the amount of $273,600 from the Clean Buses for Kids School Bus Diesel Retrofit Program. The motion carried unanimously.
The Board recognized the following: High school chorus students Andrew Hann and Adam Moskal have been selected to participate in the PMEA District 1 Chorus Festival on January 27-29, 2005 at Plum Senior High School.
Holly Kappert has achieved three years of perfect attendance. Holly is in the fourth grade at Hills-Hendersonville Elementary School. The following high school students have also achieved three years of perfect attendance: Brett Chupinka, Gary Cooper, Susan Moyers, Richard Paga, Jayson Romano, Thomas Rutan, Nicholas Bajack, Richard McMillen, Lawrence Refosco, Stephen West, Cassandra Johnston, Adam Moskal, Angela Santoro, and Lynn Tan.
The following high school students placed first in Demonstration Projects at the Student Voices Civics Fair on December 9, 2004: Angela Barney, Mike Rush, Jeff Stacko, Jessica Mesing, Jessica Carpenter, Aditya Kumar, Mark Jacobs, Shannon Fetcko, and Nick Casciotti.
At the State Thespian Conference in Greenville, PA, Adam Moskal and Samuel Green were named as Hall of Fame Members dedicated to the performing arts in the areas of performance and technical theatre due to their resume of activity. Canon- McMillan=s production number received many accolades and the duet number featuring Adam Moskal and Andrew Hann had the conference attendees cheering even before their last note.
January is School Board Recognition Month in honor of all school board members who volunteer their time and talents for the betterment of public education in our community.
