Glasgow Coma Scale This scale is often used at the emergency scene or at the emergency room and measures three main responses: eye opening, best motor response, and best verbal response. These are graded using the numerical system below. The lower the score, the more severe the injury. However, this scale does not predict how well a person will recover or regain their functioning.
