Product Description:

Depart Christchurch 8.00am.  Travel by coach across the Canterbury Plains to the Rakaia Gorge.  At the river bank you will meet a jet boat operator who will guide you  for an hour through the braided waters of the Upper Rakaia River and into the Wilberforce River.  The views of the Southern Alps are magnificent from your seat on board the boat as you weave through the shallow waters of this glacier fed river.  On the banks of the Wilberforce River you will meet your 4x4 transport vehicle.  This specially designed, comfortable, air conditioned monster will transport you through the tussock covered hills and along the bush clad trails as you enjoy the trip of a life time through this historic sheep station.  Fording the crystal clear glacial waters of the Wilberforce River your journey continues on up the Harper Valley to where you will view some awesome landscapes.  From here the trail takes you on past the beautiful Lake Monk and deep into Ryton Station where your coach will be waiting to transport you back across the Canterbury Planes to Christchurch arriving home around 5.00pm.  During the course of your day you will have enjoyed stress free comfortable coach travel, a jetboat trip and an awesome tour through some of the remote wilderness regions of Canterbury.  Morning and afternoon tea as well as a delicious picnic lunch are supplied and will be enjoyed at picturesque places throughout the day.  We will talk about the history of this region.  With thirty years experience in the wilderness our team have the skills to ensure you enjoy a full days experience in comfortable stress free style and safety.  Come along and breath the pure fresh air of this unspoilt region.  View nature at its best.  Forward bookings required.  For further information please contact us.

PR angle:

Te Anau has enhanced its reputation as the best place to go for high quality holidy parks.  In the past twelve months 23 Holiday Parks nationwide have achieved the official Qualmark 5 star or 4 star plus gradings - and four of them are within a stone's throw of the centre of Te Anau township.  Qualmark's Holiday Park assessors visited Te Anau this month, confirming the 5 star grade of Te Anau Top 10 Mountain View Holiday Park and 4 star plus grade of the Fiordland Holiday Park.  Joining them among the Holiday Park elite are the Te Anau Lakeview Holiday Park which has been upgraded from 4 star to 4 star plus, and the new Te Anau Great Lakes Holiday Park which achieved a 4 star plus grade on its first assessment.  "There are great Holiday parks right across the country, catering to all tastes and budgets," says Qualmark chief executive, Fiona Luhrs.  "But to have four parks in such close proximity, all offering recreational and camping faclities at these standards is unique in New Zealand".
