SUP. RIDLEY-THOMAS: FINALLY, ROSA LEE THOMPSON, BORN SEPTEMBER 15, 1925, IN LEESVILLE, AND PASSED AWAY ON JUNE 17, 2010 AT THE AGE OF 84. SHE GRADUATED FROM PARISH TRAINING SCHOOL IN DERIDDER, LOUISIANA, IN 1941 AT THE AGE OF 15, THEN MOVED TO WASHINGTON, D.C. TO ATTEND BEAUMONT BUSINESS COLLEGE. SHE RELOCATED TO LOS ANGELES IN 1944 AFTER SHE EARNED A BUSINESS AND ACCOUNTING DEGREE FROM BEAUMONT. SHE HELD A NUMBER OF JOBS THROUGHOUT HER CAREER, INCLUDING SHORT-TERM AT LOCKHEED IN BURBANK AND WORKED EXTENSIVELY AS A PRESSER IN MANY OF THE LARGEST FASHION DESIGN HOUSES IN LOS ANGELES. SHE SPENT SEVERAL YEARS AS A HOMEMAKER AND RETURNED TO WORK AS A CULVER CITY LIBRARY CLERK UNTIL HER RETIREMENT IN 1995. SHE ALSO PARTNERED WITH HER HUSBAND AND SEVERAL REAL ESTATE VENTURES UNTIL HIS PASSING IN 2002. SHE HAD A TREMENDOUS FAITH AND COMMITMENT TO THE LORD AND SERVED FAITHFULLY AT THE CHURCH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. SHE LOVED ENTERTAINING, SEEING LIVE THEATRE AND MOVIES AND WAS AN AVID READER, ENJOYED ALL TYPES OF MUSIC AND LOVED TO DANCE. SHE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR HER LOVING GENEROSITY, HER SPIRITUALITY, HER PEACEFULNESS, HER DEVOTION TO FAMILY AND THE CHURCH, HER COOKING AND HER WARM, INVITING, AND BEAUTIFULLY
