LOLA SKELTON: HI. I'M LOLA SKELTON AND I'M HERE REPRESENTING THE ANTELOPE VALLEY CAL S.A.F.E. PROGRAMS AS WELL AS ADVOCATING FOR THE STUDENTS OF ANTELOPE VALLEY. I HAVE WORKED WITH THE PROGRAMS SINCE THE INCEPTION BACK IN THE EARLY 1990S. L.A.C.O.E. ESTABLISHED THE P.M.P., PREGNANT MINORS PROGRAM, IN THE ANTELOPE VALLEY IN NOVEMBER OF 1992. WHEN THE PROGRAM TRANSITIONED, THIS PROGRAM TRANSITIONED INTO THE CAL S.A.F.E. PROGRAM, THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL AGE FAMILY EDUCATION PROGRAM. L.A.C.O.E. AT THIS TIME AS WELL TRANSITIONED THEIR PROGRAMS. THE TRANSITION INCLUDED THE FATHERS INTO THE PROGRAM AND LENGTHENED THE DURATION THAT THE STUDENTS COULD RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FROM THE PROGRAM. THE INTENT OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE A RIGOROUS HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION FOR PARENTING TEENS WHILE ADDRESSING THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF THE
